Egg Donor Compensation and Expenses
As an Egg Donor, your Prospective Parents are responsible for the expenses
incurred as a result of the egg donation cycle, in addition to your
Egg Donor compensation. These expenses including the following:
- All Medical Expenses
- Egg Donor Compensation
- Appropriate and suggested compensation for Egg Donors is $5,000.
Under extraordinary circumstances (e.g. Egg Donors of ethnic minorities
and/or with unique/exceptional backgrounds/ qualifications)
may consider requesting higher compensation, with Tiny Treasures' approval. Tiny Treasures will guide Egg Donors in setting
appropriate compensation requests. Compensation requests may
not exceed $10,000 per the guidelines set forth by the American
Society for Reproductive Medicine, which are as follows:
"Although there is not consensus on the precise
payment that oocyte donors should receive, at this time sums
of $5,000 or more require justification and sums above $10,000
go beyond what is appropriate"
- Lost wages and/or childcare expenses incurred as a result
of retrieval and/or travel are not reimbursable, so Egg Donors
should take these expenses into account when setting their
compensation request.
- Tiny Treasures' Agency Fee
- Attorneys' Egg Donation Contract Fees
- Accidental Egg Donor & Recipient
Insurance
- Reasonable Travel Expenses (if travel is required for the egg
donation):
- Excessive Mileage & Gas: Paid to any Egg Donor who is
required to drive over 60 miles one-way to get to fertility
clinic or other required appointments (paid @ $0.55 cents/mile)
